Deadline clarification

Please clarify the end date/time.
It says May 28 at 12:00am EDT ? Does that mean end of day Saturday (May 28th) OR end of day Friday (May 27th)

  The deadline is 11:59 p.m. eastern US time on Friday, May 27. In order for submissions to be received at 11:59 p.m. the deadline had to be set for 12:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28 (one minute after 11:59 p.m. on Friday May 27.)
